The vision for this Soul Art piece came to me before I ever set my hands to create it. It was a calling, a deep inner knowing that I needed to express my journey through mixed media and collage—a self-portrait, Soul Art style!
On 11.11.11, we left Germany in pursuit of happiness. We sold everything we owned to work and live on a cruise ship for two years, after which we immigrated to the United States. The cutouts you see in the picture above are from a collage I created back in 2010, reflecting the hope and dreams we held.
Sadly, happiness was not to be found in the US. The deep grief and pain of unfulfilled dreams became etched into my face and locked within my body. These were the manifestations of the emotional casualties I experienced while navigating the challenges brought about by our move.
My Soul Art Intention for this piece became clear: I wanted my body to sing again with its true power. “My body sings with radiance and now discovers her true power as a Divine vessel.”
This piece represents the priming of the vessel, unlocking pain, and healing yet another layer of my core wound. It symbolizes the powerful transformation that comes from burning away the old and allowing new growth to bloom.
