Creating my Purpose Portrait Collage has been a deeply rewarding journey, guiding me to explore who I have yet to become in our new home, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This collage is the visual representation of how I am allowing the richness of a new life to percolate within me!
I love how the octagon corners of my Purpose Portrait turned out. Honestly, I didn’t think much about the octagon shape when I began this Soul Art Journey. The cardboard was simply leftover from a new living room table delivery, and I thought it would be cool and interesting to use as a canvas.
However, once my creative expression was complete, the octagon shape started speaking to me in profound ways. Curious, I googled its meaning on a spiritual and metaphysical level, and here’s what I discovered:
The Leader – The Octagon
“The Octagon symbolizes the passage from the earthly plane (square) to the celestial plane (circle), or ‘squaring the circle.’ As an entity and dominator, you wish above all to expose your vision. Energetic and imperious, you need wide horizons to blossom.
Your sense of duty leads you to occupy positions of great responsibility and marks a quest for power and abundance. First of all, you seek to ensure your material and financial security, for the simple reason that it is necessary for your inner balance. But this is far from enough in your eyes! You have the soul of a conqueror and enough ambition to tackle great achievements.”
This revelation deepened my connection to the purpose behind this Soul Art creation, providing me with a powerful vision and the energy to embrace this next chapter of my life.
I set the following intention when creating my Purpose Portrait:
“I am experiencing a huge growth spurt in my income, with a sense of belonging in the world, and ease and joy in my work.”
About 6 weeks after completing it, I received word that I got the Fitness Advisor Sales Position at GoodLife Fitness that I had applied for, which beautifully aligned with my intention and revealed my next level of purpose.
My biggest insight was unveiled right at the beginning of this Soul Art Journey. The creativity doors of collecting images, finding words, and streams of consciousness writing provided the insight before the art was created. Creating the art then became the visual representation of this profound insight:
